Becoming an Artist: Connecting with Your Inner Artist

If you want to become an artist but don’t know where to start, we’re here to help. Today, we’d like to share some ideas with you and encourage you to take that first step towards your dream.

Becoming an artist can be a fulfilling journey, and the good news is that it’s never too late to start. Here are some additional tips to help you get started on your artistic journey:

  • Determine what type of art you’re interested in pursuing. Do you enjoy painting, drawing, sculpture, or digital art? Experiment with different mediums to find what you enjoy most.
  • Take advantage of free resources. Many libraries and community centers offer free art classes or workshops. You can also find a wealth of tutorials and instructional videos online.
  • Practice regularly. The more you practice, the better you’ll become. Set aside time each day to work on your craft, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
  • Join a community. Surround yourself with other artists who can offer support and guidance. Attend art shows or join online forums to connect with other creatives.
  • Be fearless. Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things. Embrace the learning process and don’t let fear of failure hold you back.

Remember, the most important thing is to start. Don’t let self-doubt or procrastination prevent you from pursuing your passion. Take that first step today and see where your artistic journey takes you.

Becoming an artist is super fun! And guess what? It’s never too late to start! Being an artist just means being yourself and expressing your unique ideas and emotions.

Let’s explore your creative side! To start, let’s awaken your inner artist by connecting with your inner child. Remember those days when you would draw just for fun and without worrying about perfection? You were a little artist then, and you still are now! Let’s revive that childlike wonder and create something amazing.

If you haven’t drawn in a long time, this won’t be an easy process, so let’s do it together this time:

Drawing Tips for Beginners:

From Paper to Digital.

Whether you’re using paper or an iPad (like I am in this example, with my Apple Pencil, Procreate app, and Crayon Procreate set), start with a simple sketch. Then, create strong borders with a basic round brush to achieve linear art.

  • Remember that it doesn’t have to be perfect – the finished product is more valuable than perfection. If you try to draw without making mistakes, you’ll never be ready.
  • Drawing is an exercise in self-confidence and release. Keep in mind that everyone has the potential to be an artist. Digital drawing allows you to make corrections and improvements. And the sketch is only the beginning of the process. You can add color, shadows, light, and texture to bring your artwork to life.
  • Many of us are afraid to draw because we worry that we won’t be able to create something that looks good or that others will think is good.
  • Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and keep trying until you achieve the desired outcome. Keep drawing until you feel proud of yourself, more than your work.

Are you ready to start drawing? Let the creative process take you on a journey of self-discovery.
